i spent the past few days at a wedding photography workshop by Joe Buissink, one of my all-time favorite wedding photographers.
Joe’s famous for creating stunning work at celebrity weddings (Jessica Simpson + Nick Lachey, Christina Aguilera, Kelsey Grammer and Jenny Garth are amongst his clients), but over the past few days i got to know Joe’s generous, kind and gentle spirit while getting a little insight into his approach to documenting weddings.
here are some of the images that Heather and i created together during Joe’s workshop.

Heather – thanks for being such an amazing subject, i had so much fun working with you!
Joe – thanks for sharing so much of your work, insight and yourself–you are truly an inspiration to me.

Jen met Ira while while she was hanging pictures in a store that Ira was working at.
Jen became frustrated with him as he pointed out how crookedly her pictures were hung and was taken off guard when he asked her out.

But she decided to go out with him any way and here we are six years later.

Jen was a little nervous this morning, but sure looked great.

Mary needed to do a little McGyvering to get her shoes to fit.

After the ceremony we went for a stroll at Seamon Memorial Park.

Ava thought that these flowers would make a nice wedding present for Jen + Ira.

Ira’s mom Patricia is a pastry chef and made this amazing chocolate ganache cake with cream cheese frosting. Mmmmmm chocolate!

Uncle Bobby invited Jen’s Dad John to play a set with the band.

Tomorrow Jen + Ira are off to the Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen.

Congratulations to Jen + Ira and thanks for having me with you to document your day.

Although Lauren + Mike are making their home in the Boston area, they came back to Lauren’s home in New Hyde Park to get married.

I started the day with Lauren and the girls (Johanna, Maureen, Ivana, Courtney and Aimee) at Mary Jane and Mike’s house then we headed over to the church for the ceremony.

Father Anthony delivered a beautiful sermon and even spiced it up with a few words in Latvian.

After the ceremony, we celebrated in the beautiful Dome Room at Jericho Terrace in Mineola, NY.

Linda, Rafael and their crew did an amazing job taking care of every detail quickly and courteously. They were always on hand to help out in every way.

In addition to the traditional parent dances, Lauren shared a dance with her mom Mary Jane.

Mary Jane + Mike celebrated their 30th anniversary with a special dance.

Tomorrow morning Lauren + Mike head to Disney World for their honeymoon.
Congratulations and thanks to Lauren + Mike!
